Mr. Chairman,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Dear Friends,

The 22nd International Congress of Refrigeration is opening in due form today. Firstly please allow me on behalf of the Organizing Committee of this Congress and also on behalf of the Chinese Association of Refrigeration to express our warmest welcome and sincere thanks to all of you.

The International Congress of Refrigeration is held in every four years. It is the first time that the International Congress of Refrigeration to be held in Asia and in a developing country. We understand its important significance. The IIR decide to held this Congress in China is a advisable act. We take it our great glory and obligation. the Organizing Committee and the Science and Technology Committee having been working elaborately four years for the preparation of this congress and worked out an affluent scientific and social program. There are totally 1210 participants to this Congress coming form 55 countries from the five continents. The congress has collected 876 manuscripts.

During our preparation of this congress,we have received great assistance from all circles of IIR,such as the assistance from Mr. Eric GRANRYD,President of the General Conference,Mr. Henk VAN DER REE,The President of the Executive Committee; Mr. Robert D HEAP,the President of the Science and Technology Council; Mr. Didier Coulomb,the Director of IIR. Also we have gained the kind assistance from all the chairmen of the IIR Sections and Commissions. I’d like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to all of them.

In the meantime,this congress have gained the industry sponsor support from 20 international famous companies and Chinese companies,these support have favorably provided the financial foundation for the congress. I also want to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to these companies.

I believe this congress will be a congress of comity,and a congress full of science and technological ambience. We wish this congress will be the one that could boost the development of the world refrigeration science and technology.

I wish the congress a great success! I wish every one enjoy their stay in Beijing China! I wish everyone a good health!
