Beijing Starts The Action of 26 Degrees of Air Conditioners for Energy-Saving Again
On June 26,2005,“the action of 26 degrees of air conditioners for energy-saving——our commitment in 2005 ” is started again in Beijing. Such 9 environmental groups as global village of Beijing,cultural association for promotion of Chinese environment,WWF,etc. propose this proposal again. They get the energetical support of the department of environmental utilization of resources of national development and reform committee.
The focal point of the advocating action is promising. Advocate organizations will organize volunteers to get to public fields such as office buildings,hotels,markets etc. and foreign Embassy in China propagate. Then the volunteers will publicize the theme of the action and distribute promising cards,filled in by the voluntary participants. The units having promised will adjust the temperature of all air conditioners in the buildings belong to them to 26 degrees in 3 months from June 26 to September 26. It is will not only economize 10% of the power consumption of air conditioner but also reduce the discharge of the carbon dioxide to carry out the action,which is in favor of environmental protection. The advocating organizations will collect the promising card and carry on the supervision in the following 3 months. On September 26,these 9 organizations will announce relevant achievements in the former 3 months.
It is calculated that the power consumption gap in Beijing is 700,000 kilowatts this year. If air conditioners of all buildings in Beijing are adjusted to 26 degrees,at least 300 million kilowatts electricity will be economized one summer and about 10% of the electric load. will be reduced.
2005年6月26日，“26度空调节能行动——2005我们承诺”活动再次在北京启动。北京地球村、中国环境文化促进会、世界自然基金会等9家环保组织再次提出这一倡议，并得到国家发改委环境资源利用司的大力支持。
这次倡导行动重点在承诺。倡导单位将组织志愿者到办公楼、饭店、商场等公共场所以及外国驻华使馆宣传、发放承诺卡，由自愿参加者填写。承诺单位在6月26日—9月26日的3个月内将所辖建筑内的空调温度调至26度。这不仅可以节约空调10％的耗电量，而且可以减少二氧化碳的排放，有利于环境保护。倡导单位将在尔后的3个月内收集承诺卡并进行监督。9月26日，这9家组织将宣布3个月的相关成果。
据测算，今年北京的用电缺口为70万千瓦。若将北京所有建筑的空调调至26度,一个夏季至少可节电3亿千瓦，降低约10％的电力负荷。
