Midea Moves Central Air Conditioner Productive Base to Chongqing
2005年8月28日，重庆美的工业园一期工程正式投产，首台离心式水冷机组在南岸茶园美的生产线下线。美的电器新任总裁方洪波当日飞抵重庆参加投产仪式，并称，5年内，美的重庆工业园将成为国内最大的中央空调研发中心和生产基地。
据介绍，美的重庆工业园累计总投资为10亿元，占地总面积为800亩，其一期工程由重庆通用工业集团、美的集团共同投资，主产大型中央空调、水冷机组、水冷柜机等产品。按美的集团的“十一五”规划，美的重庆工业园还将生产家电和机电设备，3—5年内可形成产值50亿元以上，周边配套企业的生产能力可达20亿元。
据悉，与沿海相比，重庆的人工、原材料、水电费成本较低，每台生产空调的生产成本，比在广东要少100元以上。同时，逐渐改观的重庆交通网可辐射到云贵川等地。这些都为美的所看好。
On August 28，2005，the first project of Midea Industrial Base in Chongqing has put into production formally. The first centrifugal water cool machine set has been producted by Midea product line in tea garden on southern bank. HongboFang,the new president of Midea Electrical Apparatus,appeared on the ceremony for this matter. He says,Midea Industrial Base will be the biggest central air condition research and exploitation centre and product base in 5 years.
1 billion has been totally invested into the construction of Midea Industrial Base in Chongqing. This base has an area of 800 mu. Chongqing Universal Industry Group and Midea Group jointly invest the first project,which mainly products good-size central air conditions,water cool machine set etc. Midea Group has an plan for the 11th 5 years. It contains the following objects of Midea Industrial Base in Chongqing: It will product electrical apparatus and electromachanical equipments，creates an production value of more than 5 billion Yuan in 3 to 5 years,and the productive capacity of the around enterprises will reach to 2 billion Yuan.
It is known that compared to the coastland,the cost of labour force,raw materials water and electricity is low in Chongqing. The cost of each air condition is at least 100 Yuan lower than in Gungdong. Moreover,the traffic web in Chongqing has been improved,leading to Yunnan,Guizhou and Sichuan. Midea satisfies all these factors.
